I presume Setanta didn't show the afters that went on?
After Cronin tried to do a Quigley on Sean O'Connor, he went up to SOC after the final whistle to have a further go. Whatever he said SOC didn't approve and pushed him off, to which Cronin then shoved Sean O'Connor. Both teams clashed, with Pat Flynn desperately trying to get at Killian Brennan or Anto Murphy (I couldn't see which it was), and Pat Fenlon trying to get stuck in to a few Rovers players and jabbing fingers at everyone. Fenlon had to be restrained by his own team, Pat Flynn was grabbed by Barry Murphy to calm him down. It was very heated, a few players shoved to the ground, referee had to come running back over to try to restore order but just ended up in the melee.
After that Bohs came out to warm down, in front of Rovers fans who were being kept back. Fenlon decided to lead the warmdown himself and took the opportunity to start telling Rovers fans how he's going to win five-in-a-row with Bohs. Extremely professional thing to do when you tried to f**k off 6 months ago, your team is struggling badly and you've been lucky to get a point at home. Jason Byrne then started to dance around in front of Rovers fans who were slagging him off which Fenlon seemed to find hilarious. Rovers came out to warm down, only for Killian Brennan (or was it Murphy?) to walk out of his way through the Rovers squad and do the classic 14 year old boy move of dropping the shoulder as you walk in to someone. Rovers pushed him away which meant Fenlon and the Bohs squad came running over from the other side of the pitch to square up to the Rovers team again this time in an almost empty stadium.
They're a classy lot.
Happy enough with a point all the same and to escape without any broken legs, should have won it but Bohs were able to throw a limb in front of every goal bound shot at the last second. What can you do, today was further evidence in my book that Bohs are struggling big time and are nowhere near their first title winning side, or even the team from last year.
It was a bit of pushing and shoving, nothing too serious.
To compare Cronin's tackle to Quigley's one against Pats is wrong imo.
Also, there were a couple of hefty challenges over on the Jodi Stand side from Shams players so even enough on that score.
I thought the atmosphere was decent enough, mainly due to the Shams fans though who had good numbers there. Lunchtime kickoffs take the edge out of games a bit I feel.
Obviously I couldn't hear what Cronin was saying but his body language and the reaction of Sean O'Connor didn't exactly suggest a groveling apology. Fenlon was one of the most, ahem "animated", along with Cronin and Pat Flynn, and then he came out to try to wind up the crowd and start something during the warm down.
Considering you had the league won at this stage the last two years, and have had a big slice of luck already in a lot of games earlier in the season, I think it's fair to say Bohs are struggling in the league this year.

so you agree with me now then, yeah? Last week you told me i was making it up. Doesnt look like Rovers will win it either.
As for the rest of your post stop being such a drama queen. Its the derby FFS, tempers get flared. Im sure your fans werent winding Fenlon up when they were warming down and it was all just initiated by Pat. That would make sense. Im just glad your fans decided to stay off the pitch for a change. Funny what a e5k fine will do.
Derry 2 Up v Waterford
Excuse me? Last week you were saying that Bohs are out of the title race, Rovers too, that neither had any chance of winning the league. That's preposterous. I said you're struggling, not that the title race is over and it's a two horse race between Dundalk and Pats.
How am I a drama queen? I reported the facts as I saw it, which was rather interesting and has been picked up in every review of the game, and left out what I heard from others around me, but didn't see, which included punches being thrown from two players, one on either side. Rovers fans were winding up Fenlon, they were winding up Jason Byrne too. I never said they weren't, it's a pretty common occurrence at LoI games these days believe it or not.Quote:

thats not what i said. I said we were crap and "Heres hoping Nutsy sorts it out but i think the league is down to Pats and Dundalk. Rovers and ourselves have gone backwards". Ive pointed this out to you already in the previous thread but you ignored it.
You now agree with me. Thank you.
Yawn, its happened before it will happen again. Drama.
I don't remember ignoring anything, but I still think it's ludicrous to say Rovers or Bohs are out of the title race and its down to the other two.
Doesn't the term drama suggest that it's something of interest? Considering you didn't see the incident I'm surprised you'd be so quick to suggest it's of no interest to anyone, most of our fans at the game certainly found it interesting and I'm sure fans of other clubs at least thought it was worth mentioning a 20 man melee that boiled over twice. Also, I can't remember it happening before with this Rovers team, though Bohs were involved in a similar incident last year with Dundalk.
