What are the thoughts for the league this year? Any teams bring in players?
Any news on regional this year...heard they have no manager?? Whats there squad like this season? Can anyone shed some light...
Anyone looking for friendly match
who is fancied to win the league this year.will the pols be strong or are they all gone home
Apparently Mungret have a handy side this year. Heard they signed one or two good players from St. Pats A's. Vinnie Naughton who played for Mungret A last year is with them at the moment as well. Might be ones to watch for the league if they can hang onto these players.
Mungret Regional B 0-0 Caherdavin B
Both teams tried to play a bit of football and either could have snatched a goal to win it. Was a good run around for both teams last night. Mungret will be a very decent side and should be there or there abouts at the top this season.
moyross 4 cals 2.. keith colbert and kenneth sheehan signed from prospect 2 good additions
Whats the list of teams playing 2B this year? Is there many country teams?
summerville rovers will have an astro available for use by end of september, it's astro grass similar to mungrets and around the same size, throw me on a pm if intersted in renting.
Lads, any news on the teams in the league this year? We've (Hyde) come down from 2A, signed 4/5 players, not sure how strong we'll be though. Is anybody stong favourites, I hear the Polish lads have a strong team but I've not seen them play.
moyross will be very strong this year signed a few that used to play premier gary ryan, smiggy, stephan leo, glen woodland and a few more not many teams will take points of them this year out there tough place to go to
Yeah, they both signed. Also signed a keeper,a midfielder and a new forward. They've all looked ok in pre-season. Not much of a squad though, when changes have been made in last half hour of games we've struggled. Summerville ended up hitting us for 5 and they were a few short of their best team.
I hear Kennedy Park are finding it hard to get players to turn up.
Anyone know if they have many signed?
Moyross v Mungret
Hyde v Regional
Anyone have the other opening fixtures?:ball:
Friendly result
Moyross 3 Balla B 1
Kildimo 3 - 3 Mungret Regional B
Mungret were missing a few starting players, still put in a good performance against a handy desmond league team. Pitch was in pretty poor nick and didnt allow for much ball to be played.
Have regional even 11 signed yet?
I was told the average age of the team was 19/20, im not going to say you will never win anything with kids, but you need a bit of experience to go along with those young players and i dont think regional have that this season. So i wouldnt see them walking through anyone in this league.
As for Mungret, only time will tell. I have only seen them play twice this season and they looked decent enough both times. But like i said before Moyross or the Polski's will be the favourites! if there not off eating swans that is!! :)
:) Ya players diets are imperative at this level!! The Pols would want to get there act together!:p I hear some of Regionals youngsters are training and playing matches with the A's so that standard will stand to them experience wise...Did the Mungret old age pensioners and Daddys win either pre season friendly you saw??
Never said i was attached to that club, but i have friends playin with them.:D Drew TWO!! Ohhh...24/25!...time to hang up the boots IMO!! Ye played a week Caherdavin B and some usless desmond league team wasnt it?? Regional dont seem to be rushing into friendlies...only starting to get there full team training because of holidays from what i hear. They have a match tuesday so feel free to mosey on down and see what there like yerself, im sure they'll have one or two forms spare if you like what you see and would rather ball to feet for a change...
:) One or two spare? ha, id say the managers boot is full of them. Ya as you said i might mosey on down for a look, see how many are lacking a bit of match practise. Cant have that going into a league game away to hyde in a weeks time! Who ye playing and what time is kick-off?:ball:
David Gallaher is out with injury until at least christmas, Dirmuid Barry is going to Qatar working for the year and Paul Scales (there top scorer last year) is out for a while according to team mates for the start of the season and Vinnie Naughton may go playing with the A's...he's definately good enough to be a squad player there so it may be hard to hold onto him!...I could be wrong about that though!
