Which of these players most deserves an international call-up?

There doesn't seem to be the option of starting a poll, so this'll have to be done the old fashioned way.

Brian Murphy
Owen Heary
Keith Fahey
Mark Quigley
Dave Mooney
Joe Gamble
Brian Shelley
Gavin Peers

Tried to think of the 2 best Irish players from each team. This is just MY opinion, so please, no replies with "I can't believe you left out X, he's much better than Y!"

I can't think of 2 good RoI-qualified players playing for Derry, so they are excluded. I put one each from Drogheda and Sligo in there, as I don't think those teams are deserving of any more.

My own vote would go to Keith Fahey. He's just an outstanding player, and at the very least deserves to be called up to a 40-man training squad rather than some guy in Blackburn's reserves, for instance. If not Fahey, then it would be Brian Murphy. The guy is the equivalent of building a brick wall in front of the goals.

I'd go for Fahey but obviously I see him more often than the others.

Agree about the 40 man training thing but if everybody is fit no LOI player is good enough for the a 22 man squad for a competitive game.

Keith Fahey & Brian Murphy

Probably Brian Murphy, outstanding all last season and again this year. Bohs defensive record owes an awful lot to him.

Fahey is a bit too inconsistent, although I'd love to see him tried at that level. Owen Heary is too old to warrant a call up, but a very good player.

Mooney and Quigley I'd rate about the same, Quigley has the raw skill, Mooney is a fantastic finisher, sadly they probably both need to play at least at Championship level to be considered.

Brian Murphy for me as the National team are short on goalkeepers. Apart from Given & Kiely we've no decent back up. He's hell of a lot better than Supple & Randolp.

I think we need a centre back more than anything so I'd probably go with Graham Gartland.

only really keith fahey out of that list, but look at all the players that would be in front of him. we have a lot of midfielders. see the article in the paper sat that derby were looking to take him. lost at the weekend, reckon he'd prob be better off staying where he is.

Murphy, Mooney, Quigley or Fahey.

I can't decide.

Brian Murphy is probably the best keeper after Given and Given is getting old too. There is only so long he can be ignored for. Kiely must be nearly 40 now.

Of the list you have, would have to plump for Gartland - as Holidaysong said, we need a centre back

Gartland terrible jesus man ask any loi supporter who actually watches the games and 99.99% will tell you garto in top notch,it says alot when a dundalk fan agrees

All LOI players are, thats why they're at the level they are.

Keith Fahey or Gavin Peers for me. Peers IMO is the best centre back in the league and Keith Fahey has been probably St.Pats best player this season and is a top class midfielder. And maybe in a couple of years Seamie Coleman if he keeps improving.

What the heck, lets put the whole Sligo team out to Georgia :rolleyes:
