signed for glentoran were u not after him did he not impress on his trial
i'm not sure, his name was being bandied about but that was only last week, i'm not even sure he got an u21 game with us. Glentoran must have swooped with an offer for him because i doubt if his trial period with city would have been over so quickly.
dissappointing, he sounded like a good prospect.
according to the BBC website he signed a 3 year deal so in reality cash may have come into it along obviously with perhaps wanting to to be closer to home. If he is the prospect that he's supposed to be i seriously doubt that city would just have flat out rejected him.

Cork lose out on Melaugh deal
Cork City have seen their attempts to sign Northern Irish midfielder Gavin Melaugh come to nought as the former Aston Villa trainee opted instead to put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Irish League outfit Glentoran.
Cork boss Pat Dolan had been expected to tie up the deal for the former Northern Irish under-21 international midfielder last week, but Glentoran boss Roy Coyle stepped in to snatch him from under the Leesiders’ noses.
Melaugh, who was an unused substitute when Sammy McIlroy’s Northern Ireland drew with Spain in a Euro 2004 qualifier at Windsor Park in June, was released by Nationwide League Third Division side Rochdale at the end of last season.
He joined City on a month’s trial at Turners Cross last week and was thought to be on the brink of tying up a deal with Cork before the Glens made their move.
