Just wondering do many of you shop online?What type of stuff do you buy, and is it cheaper?
BTW on the recommendation of people here, I am going to buy The Wire season one and two online(I will pay credit card holder).Amazon the best place?
amazon is very good. ebay is always an option too, would be fairly reliable for DVDs and such.
It depends what you are buying.
Quality clothes (such as Levis 501 jeans for €22) delivered to your door from USA based www.jcp.com who own a chain of department stores. We also bought lots of baby clothes there too.

Id mostly buy books online. They'd be a fair bit cheaper when buying a good few alright
Amazon is great for second-hand (as new) cds, and probably dvds too. There's a standard postage rate, which gives it an edge over e-Bay's profit making postage rates.

Mrs Dodge has bought a fair amount of clothes etc from US sites. The weak dollar more than makes up for postage costs.
amazon and ebay are great, if you shop online in american sites there is some great deals especially with dollar rate at mo but be careful to read small print as usa goods sometimes incur vat which is payable to dhl when he arrives at door
only downside to ebay is cost of post and packaging

I used to do a lot of shopping on CD wow and found them really easy to deal with.
Given the recent rant by one of the government Ministers about traveling to NI for shopping I guess will be even less pleased with online shopping.

Has any one bought something online from Ireland. Seems to me almost all online shopping is abroad?
I tried to buy a rugby shirt from an Irish seller on ebay. He said he'd sent it, and when I contacted him over its non-arrival, he apologised and said he'd send it again. From that point on I heard nothing from him, but it had gone over some 60-day limit so I couldn't leave feedback.Quote:

Apparantly, we are a few years behind some of our European neighbours in this regard because of our problem with rolling out Broadband nationwide.
As Pete mentioned , we don't really hear of Irish websites being used too often.
Bkg flights is proably the main exception.
Flights is probably the only Irish online purchase I make in Ireland. eBay while having an Irish site isn't really an Irish online retailer. Are Irish online retailers so few because of small country or because low levels of broadband? How do other small countries fare?Quote:
