Any major differences? Why should I download it?
You may as well I suppose. The colour scheme is slightly different and a few buttons are bigger. Other than that, the only difference seems to be that some of my add-ons don't work with it...
It looks nicer. Improved search facility, I just downloaded a plug in that lets you customize google searches, stuff like in an image search if you click the image it just opens the image, the link for the full website is separated. It's also quicker and looks nicer so far.
Definitely quicker.
Speed is biggest change I have noticed.
If you downloaded today you would have got your own certificate as part of world record attempt. :p
Precisely why I won't be updating for a few weeks or months. I live in my browser and I've trimmed my addons back to the absolute bare minimum I can deal with, but there's still a good dozen there and at least 3 or 4 critical ones still aren't ready for FF3. Disappointing considering the lead time the developers have had, but then they do it voluntarily so who am I to complain.
Google Browser Sync will be missed btw. I hope Weave will compare favourably.

One annoying thing is that when you start to enter an address the first result isnt to the home page of the relevant site rather its a page within that site
it learns, it gets very handy after a while. if its the wrong result, press down a few times and pick the right one. I've been using Firefox 3 pretty much since they started coding it, and the ability to go to certain pages - e.g. threads on this site - is very handy.
I don't know if you all know of this already or if this the right place to post this. But for those who don't know. http://www.google.com/ig is very handy homepage setup....
The Most Visited dialog is very handy!
Click the result you want. Next time, that'll be first. It learns. For instance, if I type "lisbon" im treated to the lisbon treaty thread from here, or if i type firefox it lists me the firefox maintenance page for linux followed by the official homepage. There's some savvy maths to work out the order, which you can actually adjust yourself in "about:config" (type that into the address bar) to prefer "homepages" if you'd like.
