Heard Shearer going on about England being one of the "great underachievers" with the players they have. Always been an English problem. Overestimate the quality of their own players. They beleive their own Sky propaganda with their players being over hyped week in, week out. They have some good players in Gerrard and Rooney (although I wonder is he going backwards) but no one you'd call world class.
Spot on. I was thinking that as soon as he said it. They should be satisfied that they get to the odd Q Final of a competition instead of thinking they have a divine right to win a world cup. Hansen just before the 1st WC match claimed that England had 8/9 WORLD CLASS players that would get into any team. I nearly fell off my chair laughing.Quote:
