Happy with the draw . Once you get a home draw you cant complain.
Hi Lads.
Looking forward to facing ye in the cup.
Come on The Blues !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They did beat us last year, but hopefully we'll go into the game in good form.
In the early/mid 90's, we were drawn against Waterford Utd in the FAI Cup. The weather was really bad and the game was abondoned once, drawn and the replay was postponed 5 or 6 times. At one stage, it was 1 - 1 in the RSC when the skys opened and the ref abondoned the game. T'was a long journey home to Gaillimh. We eventually won it.
Anyone have a better of memory of this than me?
The worst journey home was either after losing the promotion playoff to Drogheda, or the Cup final loss to Rovers in '85
I remember that we lost the rearranged match 4-3 in extra time after being 2-0 up at half time. Both journeys home turned me off Dundalk trips for life!
Another crap journey home was when a few of us travelled to Drogheda on the team bus. It was in the depths of winter and the roads were completely frozen. The *****s left us in the bar in United park.
This was in the pre mobile phone days so we had to get Paul Lennon from the star and a Drogs fan to drive us and catch up with the bus which was miles away.
The clubs appreciation of dedicated supporters has come a long way since:rolleyes:
I've a bit of a hazy memory but I was at the abandoned game in Waterford, which I think was a replay.
It was 1-1 and ****ing down and Ronan Killeen hacked down Jose Quitongo in the box. The home fans were going mad but then 30 seconds later the ref abandoned the game.
The re-arranged game was 1-1 if I remember, I think Ricky Fla scored.
I was also at the second replay when we beat them 2-0 in Terryland.
I remember we went on to play Sligo in the next round and again there were a few postponements and a replay. If I remember correctly by the time Sligo beat us the other semi-final had already been decided.
Ah the memories, bring back winter football, NOT!
