Is the A Championship....

Is the A league the most important thing to happen to happen to LOI football in years. Purely just to enable guys to break onto the first team faster and show they are able for the step up.

U21's was always going to be a very big jump up to the first team for any young fella, at least now he can show he is more prepared for it.

I think it is a good idea, as you say gives the U-21 and some first team players a bit of regular football, the standard, one would think would be much better than the U-21 League, so it can only improve the young players even quicker.

Over 21s.

You could always play three over 21s anyway. More, if you didn't mind getting three points docked.

I'll correct myself - it's stronger than the U-21s. It's still not "the most important thing to happen to happen to LOI football in years".

Ahh, i'll come clean, i was actually exaggerating at tad there when i said that ;) But you have to admit it is a really good step in the right direction as regards developing players.

It's simply a reserves league.

Does anybody know the date of birth required to play in the under20s league???

Doh, i'd say after is right

I reckon it might be anyone born after January 1st 1988.

The U18 season is just finishing and the cut off for that is January 1st 1989, so these should only be U19 in September or whenever the new season starts.
