Depends how you define Irish, Krstic. That noted Irishman Alan McLoughlin went for £1m in 1990, I seem to remember hearing that he was the first.

That was 1992 when he went form Wimbledon to Man City. Think it was Keith Curle who also went for the same price. Both were joint British records for a defender.Quote:
