Well with all the goings on this week it seems weve neglected the fact were playing Drogs on Fri! The best we can hope for here is a draw but I think under the circumstance we would be happy to see a good display of football from the lads. Drogs are 2/5 the draw is 11/4 and we are 13/2.
I'm changing from my 1-0 on the predictions League cos I think we'll get a score up there now. 2-1 to Drogs.
I think we can rob something up there as now would be a good time to be meeting the drogs seeing as they have had a poor start themselves. The only points they have got so far were from a home win against cobh and a scoreless draw away to sligo.

Billy made his LOI debut in United Park...and scored in a 4 - 1 win for GUFC. I wonder if his managerial debut will be as good.
I can't wait to see him being interviewed on MNS next Monday.

i would like to be optimistic but i fancy a spirted display but a solid 2-0 win for the home team

Really cant see us getting anything from this. Drogheda will be eager to bounce back after their defeat last week. After our display last week keeping the scoreline respectable would be a bonus. Hope I'm Wrong but I reckon it will be at least 2-0 Drogs.
Will be interesting to see do we just park the bus in front of our goal for most of the match or do we have a go.Drogs arent in the best of form and there is pressure on them to deliver given the start Pats have made.Im gonna go for a 0-0 or 1-1.
Dont think we should park the bus. I think that Billy will play it as a regular game and try to play football. Roy Keane said yesterday you have to take risks. We are not expecting three points tomorrow but Drogs aint doing so well either it could go either way So I say letts play footy and not be afraid of them.
I don't think we'll get anything tommorow, why is that you ask?..... Well not because of how things have gone thus far, but because Wes is out, and Keane looks likely along with potentially John Fitz!. So the defense is looking a lot weaker this week then it was last!!Quote:

Lost again, 1-0. Another schoolboy error at the back this time by Fitzy. Apart from that I'm sure tony cousins would have said " we didn't look out of place"
For once the team looked organised and our players even passed the ball to each other at times.
Deegan had a great game. Derek O'Brien was back on form,Rogers didn't make it into double figures with kicks for touch.Mc Culloch went off injured early on Keano did well after coming on for him.One or two passengers but with the injuries we had you'd expect that
Drogs fans after the game thought we deserved a draw and if we had got a goal you couldn't have said we robbed a point. Overall, it was a massive improvement on last week but we need to start getting a few points on the board. Still,I'd take more positives than negatives out the display, Keep it up Billy!

Drogheda United 1 Galway United 0
Defending champions Drogheda ground out a solitary goal victory against manager less Galway in what was a disappointing ninety minutes.
The only goal of the game came in the seventeenth minute when Aidan O’Keeffe raced away on the right onto a Jason Gavin clearance from defence. Gary Rogers sprinted from his line, however, O’Keeffe deftly knocked the ball past him and crossed for Eamon Zayed who drove the ball to the empty net.
The home side should have at least doubled their lead before the break primarily due to the exploits of O’Keeffe who was making his first start of the season. He won a free just outside the box in the latter part of the half that Paul Keegan drove over the wall forcing Rogers into a fingertip save. Then just before the interval he slipped past the visitors shaky defence but his shot lacked real power enabling Rogers make the save.
Galway rarely threatened in that opening half where the best they could muster was a Wes Charles header just short of the half hour mark which keeper Mikko Vilmunen dealt with comfortably.
For twenty minutes or more the second half trundled along aimlessly until Galway caused a couple of anxious moments in the home defence. Firstly Mark Leech had the Drogheda back line chasing shadows before getting a shot in which Vilmunen saved and almost immediately John Russell drove into the side netting.
For the remainder of the match Drogheda managed to keep the visitors at bay to secure three much needed points in their quest to move up the table.
