I am not talking pundits here.
Rhyl Nugent with that D4 artificial accent. I turn over and watch the rugby on BBC even though the reception is worse. Sky's Alan Parry where any half decent move or pass is called "brilliant".

Jim Sherwin, George Hamilton, Martin Tyler are all GBH for the ears.
Andy Gray :(
Really? I think he's an excellent commentator. Or are you just talking about his voice?
I'll go with Ian Darke of Sky. Not bad on boxing, but in every premier league game, all he ever talks about is the number of "controversial talking points."
As for analysts, has anybody ever heard Pat Crerand on MUTV. I know that it's MUtv, and I expect it to be biased, but he is a joke. He's like that annoying fan that you find yourself next to at a game who just won't shut up. Thoroughly obnoxious.
Clive Tyldsley....man is a goon & a blatant ManUre fan, still cringe when I think about him referring to the Utd players by nickname...."Seba Veron to Giggsy"
Horrible
George Hamilton. At EVERY sport. Particularly his inability to let one simple fact or event go, and not end up constantly mentioning said fact/event for the rest of the game (or race or whatver) in higher and higher tones.
Jimmy magee's voice is as dull as Leitrim but at least he knows his stuff.
Everybody connected with eurosport (bar their cycling crew, even with david Duffield in semi retirement) is terrible.
Yes he is. I suspect even Man Utd fans find him annoying.
As a child, listening to Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh on the radio would give me a headache. Every. Single. Goddamned. Time. My parents never believed me. How I hated long car journeys on weekends. I think it's a significant reason for me never really taking to the GAA.
Bryan Hamilton, Felix Healy, Darragh Maloney, Trevor Welch, Ger Canning, Pat Dolan, Mark Lawrenson, Mark Bright.
When I sit in the back of a car I often find that I get a headache from the radio, or would unless I wail loud enough to have the bloody thing turned off. As a child, few things made me as cranky as a summer Sunday, sitting into a stuffy car, and the radio blaring with Micheál's not-so-dulcet tones. Fantastic commentator though! And on that topic:
What a hero! His very own tours of France were an absolute joy. Any commentator that stops you chasing Spanish students around the town had to have been special. :) I've missed the last few Tours though so don't understand the "semi-retirement" comment Dodge....is he just a presenter now or something? A shame if so.
Ok enough positive stuff. If we extend the thread to presenters, John Inverdale (BBC rugby) is a dick of the highest order, an extreme but fair representation of the English public school set. It's hard to think of anyone I'd rather punch in the head more. Less severe hatred is extended towards Ray "if that ball that hit off the post had been inside the post and crossed the line it would've been a goal" Houghton. Also, George Hamilton must be up there; thanks to his negativity he's easily cost Ireland 3 Olympic gold medals, a Six Nations, and qualification for two World Cups. To compound that, a lad I know used go out with his daughter and said he, ah, isn't a very nice man.
For me it's a no brainer choice, the Norn Iron rugby commentator that Sky use for the Heiniken cup games with Munsssther and Leinsssssther.
Well said KH - David Duffield = legend.
Commentates for hours whilst nothing is happening. One tour he had to do it from his hotel room for 3 days because he put petrol in his diesel hire car! Sean Kelly is very very good as well, which came as a surprise considering he was once described in his racing days as the only man who would nod on the radio.
george hook
Darragh Maloney hands down for me. Everything is unbelievable to him he is also anti Man Utd (not that I support them) in his commentary and anti Dublin also.
Alan Parry is terrible also and Martin Tyler is so biased towards Arsenal that they had to take him off the Arsenal games.
Any commentators people actually like? Or is it the usual "I know more than him" thing we're goin for here?
John Motson - A pale shadow of the commentator he once was, he is now an embarassment to himself.
