Herrick in refusing to panic shocker

Cork City have lost their first two games and they look alarmingly short of creativity, but midfielder Mark Herrick is adamant that the Leesiders will turn things around.
City began the season with a disastrous 4-1 loss in Longford, which was followed by a 1-0 defeat at home to Bohs on Sunday. After going unbeaten for so long at the end of last season, it was not what City expected so early in this campaign.
"We were confident that we could have a real crack at the title this year but if has been a poor start - particularly after the way we finished last season," Herrick told Mick Conroy of the Irish Sun.
"We went 12 matches unbeaten, but there is enough ability in the squad to recover and time is on our side to make an impact at the right end of the table."
The former Galway United player said that Cork gave Bohs a very good game on Sunday. "We caused them all sorts of problems but in fairness they sorted it out at half-time and started to dictate the game," he said.
Next up for City is a trip to Bray on Friday. "We have to take something from that match. We cannot afford to give teams like Bohs a nine-point start because it would be very difficult to peg them back," he added.
"Bray is a very difficult place to go and they are flying high at the moment but we have a lot of character in the side and we have to pick ourselves up and get back to winning ways."
I mean come on there is only 2 games gone lads. true we looked shocking in longford, and the bohs games was a disapointment, but dont all teams go through a bad patch in the season...(dont they) so we are just getting ours over with now ( thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it)....and if it gets gunther the chop early then so much the better. Then we will have time to recover and qualify for europe.
