Aware you were formed in 1976, and if correct as a result of 2 junior clubs merging ( if correct Monaghan Town & a Monaghan Hibernians), though you were not elected to Eircom till 1979.
Couple of questions if I may -
1. Is it known what league you played in before election to Eircom, and is it known any Trophies won in this pre league period ?
2. Anything known re above above 2 clubs ?
3. Anyhing known re early clubs in town as believe the town/county may have had a club playing in South Ulster leagues from 1880's- to pre WW1 & partition.
Appreciate any info.

Founded in 1979 as a result of Monaghan Hibernians and Monaghan Town merging. Elected to the league in 1985. I'll look up the rest (except the bit before WW1)
