Not good feedback from the AGM which was on tonight. 7 MC members stood down, only 2 replaced them. Discussed here.

1,Loss of 180k last year.
2,100k owed to tax man,arrangement made to be paid back over next 6 months.
3,400 club,attendances and lotto all down.
4,Will cost 1.1million to run club this year.
5,27k to pay off player contracts club let go last season.

Anyway from the other forum I can see the news is bad. Lads, dont believe all that speil about the dev committee being accountable to MC. that was said last year. RG will do his own thing and be accountable to nobody. Businesses wont get involved but I'd like to know under what circumstances, if any, they would be. From looking at the accounts - alot of questions could be raised on the items/figures, but I guess that is not for discussing on these type of forums. Its important to note, The MC only have an AGM becuase they have to - why do they have wait 12 months to till us that finances are gone to pot.Quote:

Thought AGM was constructive - a lot of very committed people with the genuine good of the Rovers at heart, most noticably the MC themselves.
But the accounting last season was poor - left with 180K debt. No indication given of when they realised it would be so bad, should have known early & made adjustments. The need to have a definite budget & plan for next year spelt out from the floor but did MC take that on board ???
Dev Committee must prepare accounts for next AGM. There was no account of any sort presented. Nor did they present their priorities - pitch, stand, clubhouse etc. - and cost implications of same.
Need to fund raise emphasised - again & again!! Bottom line not enough fans thro' turnstiles & people not helping getting money in. The money taken in FELL last year compared to 2007!
