As far as I know Cork soccer colours have always been green and white.
Cork Utd played in Red Jersey with white shorts:ball:
Celtic wore black and amber I think
Hibs white with green trim
Utd. - red

The Cork GAA colours only became Red and White because the British Army nicked their real colours and then Red and White just stuck, not sure what colour they were before the change.
on a tangent, in victorian times santa claus was always represented wearing green, with a wreath of leaves in his hair. he only started wearing red when coca-cola incorporated him into their advertising and went with their product colours.

* Fordsons - Blue & White AFAIK
* Cork United (1940s) - Green & White
* Cork Alberts/Albert Rovers/Cork United (1970s/80s) - Red/White/Black a la Man U
* Cork FC - I've forgotten
* Cork City (1930s) - I've forgotten the colours, but it was something like a red/yellow/black hooped rugby shirt
* Cork Athletic - Green & White
* Cork Hibs - Green & White, changed later to White & Green, if you know what I mean...
* Evergreen United - green & gold, later black & gold
* Cork Celtic (same club as Evergreen) - Black and gold, all black with narrow gold & white hoops, all white with 1 blue hoop, blue & white hoops (QPR style), yellow & green, all white with green & yellow trims, Brazil gear 1 season (kid you not), green & white...I may even have forgotten a couple...yes, Celtic really anticipated the Man U era, but were unable to cash in on it!! :D

Yeah, the jerseys went 'missing' just before a match and a set was hurriedly borrowed from Lough Rovers. These colours - red with white collars - were then retained. The original shirts were yellow and blue with a large 'C' on the front.Quote:

You are probably right but i had though that it was the barrs. And they didn't go missing ... the club house was burnt down. It was a seperate incident but around the time when the GPO (Cork) was burnt down and the infamous spark that had jumped across and started the fire in City hall. Long way for a spark to jump but thats what the English papers claimed had happened.Quote:

A few months afterwards all games on a Sunday were banned and a Munster Final could not take place, so in reply every youth club up to senior club in the country organised a game for that same Sunday knowing they couldn't lock everyone up.
