The Navigli (south west of the city) is the canal district with the nightlife, and Corso Como is a street with the more upmarket bars & clubs, thats not great to be honest but the Lulapoluzza Bar is alright. Best to stick to the Navigli and there are three canals so dont stay in just one.
Order taxis from you hotel, its grand but there was one incident.
Where are you flying into?
In through Linate-out through Malpensa.
Ah you're grand so, Linate is about 30 mins into the centre. Ask the price of the taxi fare to the airport on the way back before you get in the car.
Also, every cab you get, you should get a printed receipt (same in restaurants and bars, illegal not to) if you dont, then he is ripping you off and you can ask him to call the police. Keep pressing this and he'll give in. Its not as bad as it sounds but there have been instances where guys will try it on.
Make sure you go underneath in the Duomo, its well worth a look.
Has anyone been to watch Inter at the San Siro? Is it easy to just get tickets in Milan? It won't let me book through the Inter website and I'm not willing to do it on some English website, which will charge a fee
See here.
You're only allowed book through the Inter site, through a third-party (face value) officially approved site for games in the week leading up to it, at the specific times stated on the website.Quote:

Flying to Milan at the end of the month for a week. While I've been awaiting assessment on my ankle troubles I have held out on booking anything around the planned skiing in Livigno. So as I have currently worked it out I'm still going and just looking on advice as I might go to a game. Unfortunately that weekend its Inter and AS Roma so a pretty big game. You can only book the match tickets the week before but I may do that if I remember.
Anyone got any advice then on Milan. I need to sort Milan out first before booking anything in Livigno as I'm not sure I can ski just yet. Might as well try a trip from there. Also wondering about travelling up to Livgno and as its a 4 and a half hour trip how its best to arrange that.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Normally, for matches, you can buy your tickets just outside the ground. You'll have to queue for half an hour or so though.
You can also buy in advance from the AC Milan shop in the city centre (I assume it's the same with Inter).
Not sure what the craic will be with Inter-Roma for tickets, but I'd guess it won't sell out.
Thanks Brendy. I'm going to get to the San Siro while I'm there. Tickets can be bought online the week before so I'll check before I go or have a look on the day.
I'm flying to Milan (Bergamo) with Ryanair. Is it not a bit from Milan then?. Have to get up to Livigno in the Alps too. I believe its a good 4 hour trip though I wouldn't have thought it was that far. Apparently its half distance between Milan and Zurich.
Not really, nah. It's about 40 mins on the bus, maybe an hour if the traffic's bad. It's not much further away than Milan's other airports.
Just a note on the tickets, if you're buying them online, watch the price. Tickets start at under €20, and a lot of the sites I seen selling them were just clean ripping people off with their mark-ups.
