I read last thursday and ive been singing it for over ten years now witout realising it the song "There She Goes" by The La's is about taking drugs. That thought never even struck me.
Looked at the lyrics and yes it does seem to be about that.
"Let me stick my keys into your ignition" for the simple reason that R Kelly will after the summer be a convicted paedophile.
I'd say his ignition will be red raw and out of action after that:D
Me either eoin, in fact I'm still not convinced! Urban myth perhaps?Quote:

You could twist any song lyric to be about drugs, Just cos he says "coursing through my veins"
It's a love song god damn it!
What about 'She's So High' by Tal Bachman? Is that about drugs too? Is nothing sacred anymore??? :(
Don't think it's Urban Myth about "There She Goes", just common knowledge.... After all smack is pretty much the reason why The La's/ Lee Mavers disappeared (only for John Power to come back with Cast)... Actually thats what made it so pathetic Six Pence Non the Richer covering it - a Christian Right Group covering a song about smack...
The other crazy cover was the Children in Need "Perfect Day" cover - again a song about smack....
always hated cast,
sure 'puff the magic dragon' is about drugs, all my mom new was that playing it for me when i was a toddler shut me up for two minutes.
Actually, strictly between us lads, I've always suspected that 'Spoonman' by Soundgarden might be drug-related!
slk slyly taps his nose
Just trust me on this one yeah?
"There she goes" by the La's is about getting blow-jobs according to every music magazine, NME etc etc. I remember an interview with John Power where he confirmed it as well.
WHO KNOWS, YOU DECIDE
There she goes
There she goes again
Racing thru' my brain
And i just can't contain
This feelin' that remains
There she blows
There she blows again
Pulsing thru' my vein
And i just can't contain
This feeling that remains
There she goes
There she goes again
Chasing down my lane
And i just can't contain
This feelin' that remains
Personally i always thought it was a song about a girl he fancied from afar
Me too eoin, maybe we're just naive and innocent!?! :pQuote:

You forgot the bridge by the way...
"She calls my name
Pulls my train,
No-one else can heal my pain
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains"
I don't care what it's really about, I've convinced myself that it's sweet! :)
blow-jobs   i'm in a state of shock.
An apology to all the closet romantics out there but its true!!! Great song and a great topic to write a song about, whenever I hear it on the radio I think of the people innocently singing along and laugh :D
On that topic, I never cease to be amazed at the vast numbers of people who think that 'Every Breath You Take' is a lovely, sweet little love ditty. It's about an obsessive wannabe boyfriend type for crying out loud! I'm sure that Sting appreciates the irony anyway! :)
What a dodgy thing to say!Quote:
