Judge directed the jury to acquitte the five as he said after 2 months of defence evidence there was no case to answer.........weird me thinks.
Simply because all evidence was circumstantial. All experts gave evidence that he did nothing wrong from a riding perspective and there was no clear evidence he pulled any horses in races. This was always going to be a flimsy case.
i'd ask why it was allowed to go to trail in the first place if evidence was so weak ??
he was hedging now was he?! i never took fallon as an Investment Banker....
Not quite true Joe. An Australian "expert" called Murrihy testified that he was convinced Fallon had deliberately lost 13 races. However, he was shown to have very limited knowledge of British racing culture, so much so that the judge said his testimony was basically irrelevant.
A key point was the interview with McGrath by the prosecution, which they failed to tell the defence about, a decision the defence implied was biased.
It was always going to be very difficult to get a conviction when it's the word of a jockey and trainer against an "expert". If the jockey can get another credible "expert" to contradict the testimony of the prosecution "expert", then a conviction is virtually impossible.
Is Fallon now entitled to compensation for earnings lost during the time he was suspended due to a "guilty until proven otherwise" policy?
hope he gets compensation because he lost out on a fortune, absolute joke. delighted jutice prevailed, look forward to backing him in glorious goodwood next year.
I don't follow horse racing but he also caught napping by the News of the screws fake sheik.
He told the fake sheik he would lose a race and not to bet on him as somebody else was planned to win. The other guy duly won.

It was always going to be extremely difficult to get a conviction. Fallon's win ratio actually went up during the alleged period under scrutiny. Not that I think Fallon is whiter than white (no pun intended).
Where's the "Oil Bailey" ;) ?
The HRA made a complete mess of their case by mainly putting the Austrailian "expert" on the stand as their style of racing is completly different from the way we run thinks in both the UK & here. The guy didn't interview even one Trainer to ask if Fallon disobeyed riding instructions-thats how inept it was.
Racing is the most corrupt sport around imho and and K Fallon is no alter boy.
