Just listening to her latest there and I have to say that she is the biggest enigma in music today, both personally and professionally. Personally I think a lot of what she does and says is nonsense, the Priest phase, the rasta thing and the Mary Coughlan horror show cast her in a bad light I think (I hear in person she's a really nice woman, well my girlfriend's grandmother, who is friends with her sister says she is anyway), but there is something slightly endearing about her. Maybe its because of her childhood that I don't want criticise her too much, I don't know.
But musically I doubt anyone would argue that she is one of the most talented females, vocally, on the planet. Some of her songs are absolute gold, and she knocks spots off of so called world class singers like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion, people who haven't a God's honest clue how to use their voice. A lot of people criticise Sinead for bringing out albums like Throw Down Your Arms and Theology, but honestly I think she should be applauded for at least trying different things. That said I hope she gets over whatever misgivings she seems to have with recording with Groove Armada and gets in the studio with them.
Oh and I'd recommend picking up Theology
