I dont know anything about shares but if you want to actually help the club in some way, I'd suggest you sign up to the "Friends of Limerick 37" thing. Basically you give Eur22 a month, which is equivalent to the price of a share over 12months. You dont get anything in return apart form the satisfaction of doing your little bit, and theres a draw every month with a cash prize :)
It was in the match programme for the Limerick and Shelbourne game. There was a form in the back of the programme with an account number and a sort code for the " Friends of Limerick37" bank account. I would say your best option is to call into the club shop on Davis Street and see if they have any match programmes left over. It also says, each month, 20% of the monthly contibutions will be used as the prize monet. Therefore the more people signed up for this the bigger the prize fund is every week.
From Ger Finnin's update email dated yesterday :
"Shares in the club are now available again at the same price of €250.00 per share. A shareholders meeting will be held in the Quality hotel on the 16th November 2007 at 8.30pm the meeting will select the 2 shareholders to sit on the board who hold under 100 shares"
and..
"Our Friends of Limerick 37 fund is now up and running and will provide much needed funds for the club during the off season, the basis of the fund is simple. Contributors are asked to give a minimum of 69 cents each day in the form of a monthly direct debit of €21.00, each week one contributor is selected at random and they receive 20% of the total income for that week I.E if 1000 people sign up we will collect the equivalent of €5250.00 each week and 20% of this (€1050.00) will be given to the contributor who’s name is selected at random. If you can afford 69 cent per day to keep your club in football please mail the club for a form or call to the club shop “The Super Blues Store” in Davis street Limerick"
Lets be realistic here. 1000 people arent going to sign up. The attendance for the Shelbourne game was just over 600 in all fairness. Ive already fill out the form and signed up though. Is anyone else doing it?
Is that small-shareholders meeting on tonight?
What's the story?
Anyone got anything to say on the matter?
Or are people playing their cards close to their chests in the hope of sneaking themselves onto the board where they can finally satiate their egos?
You could be onto somthing there. Check out this link...
