Ambiguous Lyrics Discussion
Just looking through that songs with numbers list I noted 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover was there and it reminded me that I was listening to it earlier today and for the first time kinda properly heeded the lyrics 'slip out the back Jack, make a new plan Stan, no need to be coy Roy, just set yourself free', and so obviously noted Simon's remarkable clairvoyance of big events in Irish football and thought it might be an idea for a new thread. So here ya are.
I think what really compounded my interest in all this, er, riveting, topic was having read, as some of ye might have, American journo, writer etc Chuck Klosterman's revelation in his pretty decent book Killing Yourself to Live that the sequence and songs of Kid A (kinda like The Wall/Alice in Wonderland 'mystery' I guess) bears an uncanny resemblance to the tragic events that unfolded on 9/11. A quick search around produced a blog article which does a good job of getting the point across. It's pretty weird to say the least.
(No strict rules here or anything, just opening it up for general discussion, like lyrics that seemed to freakishly be applicable to your life at some point, such as that time you and Julio were down by the schoolyard or whatever you're having yourself.)
