He's probably out of contract all right - very few of our players are on two year deals - but he's under 23 and with us two years, so there'd be compensation due none the less.
With Crowley, Bolger, Finn, McFaul, King and McDonnell, I think it's inevitable that one or two centre mids are going to move on this season. Any of those six would strengthen most Premier Division squads.
Been with us long enough for a fee though, depending on when he signed pro terms. Dunno if he'd be pushed about a move though. He still hasn't established himself in UCD's midfield, and might get lost in the pack at Derry.
I very much doubt that he would move away from Barcode, sorry Dublin, anytime soon.
Also this is the source, which also includes someone mentioning that Sammon hasn't signed, which CTID failed to mention. With the way things are the only way we'll no for certain about either situation is when we see who turns up from pre-season training.

It was in the media around the time of the Roy O'Donovan transfer speculation. It's probably where the Dicker fee came from as well.
