I have joined this wee project, and up to now it is certainly interesting.. I don't know if any of you would be interested, but here is a link that gives you info..

Buying the football club

The most popular club, as voted for by MyFootballClub members, and the one that most closely meets the following criteria, will be purchased:
51% or more of the football club shares can be bought.

The club is amenable to our approach.

Owning the football club

When you pay your membership fee, you will become a member of the MyFootballClub Trust. Your Trust will purchase a controlling interest in the football club, in effect making you a joint owner of your football club.


The membership fee

The MyFootballClub membership fee is £35. £27.50 will go towards purchasing a football club, buying new players and other club expenditure. £7.50 will go towards the administration of the MyFootballClub Trust and the building and management of the MyFootballClub website.

Like I said above, I joined it, and it is an interesting prospect.. trying to buy a club with the idea of building it up.

Sounds like a great idea.

Thread on this a while back. They were looking at buying Halifax a while back.

Does it not make a mockery of what a football club is about though?

You could have had Shels for £35 a couple of months ago.

We've had at leaast 2 threads on this already.

In my view it's a sh!t idea - unworkable, and totally undermines the ethos of football.

Those involved in this will inevitably get bored and make a mess of the club they purchase. That's if they ever get that far in the first place....

If the club that the wannabe football managers decided to buy and make a mess of was Linfield, I'm sure your view would quickly change Leviathan....

You should put your £35 into a proper club like the Blues - not a makey-uppy one of bored internet surfers looking to wrench a club away from its existing community/fan-base for their mere short-term titillation.

P.S. As you can probably sense, I've got fairly strong views on this...... :)
