PS3 Upscaling

Sony just released there newest update for ps3 , which up scales ps1 & ps2 games as well as DVD's to HD 1081 resolution .

Makes a massive difference I picked up god of war 1 for 20 euro at the weekend and cant get over how stunning the game looks now , It will revitalize all the ps2 back catalogue .

I got casino royal free with mine on Blue ray , bloody hell there is a massive difference between DVD and blue ray the disks are too expensive on release but you can pick up say kung fu hussle for under 20 now worth every penny great film . What tarintino tried to do with Kill bill but failed miserably

who knows i cant see it happing for a while ( maybe at xmas to catch up on microsoft ) but they are selling fast there are prob 4 or 5 million units sold now world wide .

I must admit its worth every penny 630 isnt that much when you think what you get for your money

�630??.... i saw them in town for �520....
personally im gonna wait for GTA 4 to come out and if it is identical on the PS3 and 360 ill happily buy the 360..... not pushed to get one till september when the good games start coming out...nothing out now.
Getaway and GTA both coming out sep/oct and then you have all the xmas releases a mth later!!.

Thats the cheaper one there are 2 versions one 20 gb and no wireless conection (530) and a 60 gb one with wireless ( 630 ) i would recomend the bigger one for a extra 100 euro its worth the difference .

Ive a 360 aswell, while it a class machine the price is a bit of a scam .
The PS3 is a blue ray player ( High Def disks ) the xbox cant play HD disks , you can buy a HD DVD add on for 200 euro . Also the PS3 is wireless the xbox has an add on for 100 euro !!! . The xbox games come on DVDs ( up to 8 gb ) where as the PS3 one come on blue ray disk which will have capacity of up to 100 GB !! imagine the massive games they ll make with that space .

Then the online gaming the PS3 is free the xbox costs 7 euro a month

So when you add it all up your talking for like for like your talking nearly 800 for an xbox compared to the 630 for the ps3 .

Ive both i wouldnt recomend a xbox , while its a fine machine its let down by the small HD & you cant store vids on it . by the end of next month the ps3 will have caught up with it games wise . the xbox has more games but most are poor games by the end of june you ll have Ghost recon rainbow 6 etc , by oct when your going to get one you ll have GTA and pro evo on the scene .

Plus the xbox's are really bad for breaking down out of 3 of us that bought them 2 broke completely while mine has started giving problems reading disks.

When you look at what the playstation can do and its room for improvement it will leave the xbox behind with in a year . The upscaling offers the full ps2 library aswell .

k thanks for the info on it... tbh i was never an XBOX fan and would have prob have got the PS3 anyway just have to start saving nw(ooh wait its my 21st in sept prob just get it out off that:)
was never a fan of the xbox's controllers too.... PS always more responsive and durable!!

You can be , the PS3 is wireless so as long as you have a wireless router for your broadband connection in the house you dont need to plug it in as lots of BB connections are only in one room ( mine is in my bedroom while my playstation is in the back room ), You can surf the internet on the PS3 so yeah you could be on Foot.ie . Or just use it for gaming / downloading stuff . There is a playable demo of every game to download to check it out before you buy on each system .

Think I'm going to wait for a couple of games like GTA4, the new Star Wars game, Pro Evo 7, Manhunt 2 etc. before purchasing as there is very little PS3 titles on the market currently that interests me, but your points about comparing the X-Box 360 with add ons to the PS3 have sold me on staying with Sony

plus its a far better machine , i use both in bursts i was allways on the playstation with resistence , then back on xbox for comand and conqour 3 , then i got god of war PS2 so i was back on playstation all this week . the longer it goes on the more i prefere the playstation to xbox .

The games are going to be coming hard and fast now you allready have resistence , but by the end of next month ( june )you ll have rainbow 6 and ghost recon 2 ( prob the best game ive ever played ) that should keep you going till july for the darkness and assasins creed ..

honest i dont work for sony :D

Have any of yee seen the assasins creed videos. the live demo was great. looks like a winner. i have a beast of a pc but my first love was always console gaming. mulling over xbox or ps3. cant decide. xbox has halo 3 and forza 2 coming up soon. both games sequels of some of my favorite games of all time. some real interesting prospects on ps3 tho. ive stuck to microsoft for years but i feel the dark side calling me. but jesus if i get forza i'll havta get the wheel aswel to enjoy it fully. and in all, game and wheel i'm led to believe are gonna retail near the 200 mark.
