Any chance ye might hold on to him at the next transfer window?
If not any ideas where he is going to go?
Every week there is a different rumour - Hull, Leicester, Wolves, Celtic.
I think he will go in the summer as we will have an option to get clubs to bid against each other. If he goes at the end of the season we will just have to accept tribunal figure.
For all his goals he is very inconsistent so scouts may get vastly different view of him depending on the game. Some games he works hard but others like last night he does nothing & gets two goals...
Roy is a class act, pity there is a real lack of quality in the squad the last since last season, who knows what we could have done in the Champions League.
We might not have had to sell him.
A lot depends on what clubs come in for him in the summer. If its Hull or Southend again Roy might decide to sit tight till November. If it's Celtic or an EPL side he'll be gone in a flash.
This looks like one of those "slow news day" threads. The club would have to spend a long time scouting for a player of Roy's ability, so why would the management sell him? Even if they got 750K for him, what good is all that money when all they would do is try to find a player of a similar calibre? Then there would be the challenge of introducing a new personality to the squad, etc etc.
