Know that Limerick originally elected to Eircom league in 1937 and you are the current city reps, and this is the year given as the original clubs formation.
However can anyone help me re history of soccer in the city before 1937.
What I have gathered is that the Black Watch who were IFA Cup runners-up to Linfield in 1891/92 were garrisoned in Limerick, did they therefore play any local sides.
Know that a Limerick FC team won the Munster Junior Cup in 1924/25 and again by Limerick Trojans FC in 1936/37 (possible runners up 1935/36). At the time of the foundation of the current Munster FA in 1922 there was apparently a North Munster League in which a Limerick side participated.
