With the floodlights upgraded and a roof on the St. Anne's End, we'd have the best ground in the league, by a long stretch.
But without you as tennants they will still own the ground and you will have nothing.... so get it right... you will rent the best ground in the country...
you should have bought flower lodge when ye had the chance then ye might own the best ground in the country( if ye bought it and developed it), fair play to what the cross has become it is definatly in the top 3 in the country, ye should find a way to buy the thing though :D
shame waste of a good ground
Eh, what is your point? We have the ground, we are in possession, it is of academic difference whether it is ours to dispose of, since that would not be the plan anyway. Unlike some other clubs, we have a large loyal fan base who have shown themselves to be attached to Turners Cross. Many European clubs do not own their grounds either. Nantes for example lease their ground from the municipal authority for a nominal sum. But for all intents and purposes, it is their stadium.
Cork City did attempt to purchase Turners Cross before but even it that happened i am sure there would be a clause preventing selling for development so ownership makes little difference. Development has been slow at times but still quicker than most eL grounds...
