FAI Cup Final Referees Appointed
FAI Cup Final News - Congrats to all four ISRS Dublin Branch Members
The FAI have confirmed that Mr. Damian Hancock of Dublin will referee the final for the first time in his career. His assistants will be Mr. Ciaran Delaney of Dublin and Mr. Marc Douglas of Louth while Mr. David McKeon of Dublin will be the fourth official.
The Cup final referee, Damian Hancock, who has been a member of the Eircom League Panel since 1995.
He refereed the 2005 League Cup Final, and previously acted as Fourth official in the 2002 FAI Senior Cup Final.
He began his refereeing in 1987 with SDSL and the DDSL before progressing to the Leinster Senior League and the Eircom League.
He is married to Nuala, they have two children Sean and Daire, and Damien works as a Sales Representative with Henkel Locite Adhesives Limited.
The two Assistant Referees both have international experience. Ciaran Delaney has numerous UEFA club and “A” international games to his credit since his appointment to the FIFA Panel in 2001.
He began his refereeing career in the Leinster Junior League in 1992, before being appointed to the Eircom League in 1997. He ran the line in the 2000 FAI Senior Cup Final. He is married to Dorothy and they have three children Mark, Julia and Megan.
Marc Douglas was appointed to the FIFA Panel this year, eight years after starting refereeing in the Drogheda & District Schoolboys League and the Meath & District League.
Further experience was gained on the Leinster Senior League until his promotion to the Eircom League in 2003. He already has officiated at Champions’ League and UEFA European Championships Qualifiers level this season.
The Fourth Official, David McKeon, has extensive experience of European football as both Assistant and Referee.
He previously ran the line at the 1997 FAI Senior Cup Final, as well as refereeing the 2003 League Cup Final, the 2006 Setanta Cup Final.
Among his most recent International Appointments was as Referee to the England B vs. Belarus match. He is married to Jane and they have two children, Seanán and Keelin.
