A number of players missing for Kildare game

Also on Saturday, Kildare County and Athlone Town will both be looking for their respective first wins of the season when they face each other at Station Road (Kick off 5:30).

Recent Kildare signing Tommy Dunne is in line to make his debut, either at left back or in midfield, while Ben Whelehan is fit again. However, Alan Kelly is out with a knee injury.

For Athlone, Conor Frawley is suspended while Adrian Carberry, Eric Molloy, Chris Malone, Dave Dowling, Stephen Mullins are all injured.

Manager Jimmy Greene said: "I'm disappointed for the players that we haven't had a better start but with all the injuries it has meant we've had to bring in younger players. It's good in the long run but results have been affected now.

"Kildare have had a poor start, but results will change. They have a vastly experienced manager and a vastly experienced squad. I'd expect them to come at us hell for leather as they try to get their first win. But we're also looking for our first win so it will be interesting."
