Finally some accountability. Never heard of refs here being suspended before. Promising stuff.
KOH
but that refers to previous bans
nothing since the kelly fiasco
Yeah, why would they ban them and not tell anybody. Defeats the purpose if justice isn't seen to be done
"15 new referees come on stream in the Cork region after a recent recruitment drive."
Maybe now we'll see a few Dublin clubs getting Ridden Rock Solid! :D
Link not working for me, which ref's are banned?
Names aren't mentioned - just the fact they were three FIFA Listed officials
Alan Kelly was named - and Dave McKeon was also out for a month iirc - so speculation on the third name is up for grabs
Rhona Daly?
I honestly don't know
The AR at the DU game was Tony Ryan iirc
John McDermott was the one example that springs to mind - it also hastened his retirement from the list iirc.
Not a bad referee at all
*just adding this as the page changes everyday.
AFTER a spate of “howlers” in the eircom League, the referees assessors and appointments officer have cracked down on their own members. Three of the country’s top-flight match officials and members of the Irish Soccer Referee’s Society have been reprimanded by the league but they are all back on international duty now. Pat Kelly, the league’s Appointments Officer who described some of the recent controversies as “inexcusable” feels that for the first time in five years, standards have effectively dropped to an all-time low. “There have been some major foul-ups and bad calls in the last month or so and we just couldn’t sit idly by and let things go.
We effectively suspended three of our top men for between three weeks and a month but they are all back onside now and on
international duty again,” explained Kelly whose own son, Alan was one of the men-in-black involved. “These things happen in
football but you have to try and keep standards high and we will continue to review all our members on an ongoing basis. The majority of these mistakes are all down to human error and no one goes out to deliberately to make a ****-up of things,” said
Kelly as 15 new referees come on stream in the Cork region after a recent recruitment drive.
Classic Spillane. What the thundering f*ck was that even supposed to mean?Quote:

That **** from tonight in the st pats - longford match should join them,
P.S. I dont blame the defeat on the ref he just made it all the more excitable.
Rewatched the game and unfortunatly the ref seemed to get most of them right
