Read on paper this morning that Matt Holland may make himself available in an 'emergency situation'! He's hardly at the top of his game at Charlton so I wouldn't see the immediate benefit of it. Carsley coming back would be of greater use.
From today's Indo:
Quote:
And yesterday Charlton's Matt Holland said that while he is not prepared to come out of international retirement, he could make a fleeting return in case of emergency.
"I still think I did the right thing to retire when I did," said Holland, "And I would like to emphasise that I am not coming out of retirement but I would be ready and willing to pull on the green jersey again in an emergency situation.
"It strikes me that a serious injury crisis or some other unforeseen circumstance could crop up that Steve is in desperate need of a midfielder to fill the breach. If such a situation should happen, I want him to know that I am available to answer the call.
Good on him, always liked Holland's committment even if he wasn't a world beater.
