Apparently, there have been five used since 1924, but no mention of Dublin Zoo or voice overs. Link.
The Dublin zoo article mentions that a lion named Cairbre was born in the zoo on March 20, 1927. He went on to star as Leo the Lion, the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film studio's mascot in 1928.
But thats wikipedia, can't really trust it.
Hmm.........From Dublin Zoo website.
the mgm lion is kept at mgm las vegas,i saw it there myself, can't find it anywhere on the web but it had a list of facts about it in the casino like its a fifth generation of the original lion
I was in the MGM Grand Hotel in Vegas in 2001 - it has 5005 rooms making it the biggest hotel in USA.
Anyway, when you enter the hotel, there is a glass cage in the Reception area with a few lions in it. Weird.
I didn't see any mention of the famous MGM Lion though. Sorry, this trivia doesn't answer the thread.
