Minister John O'Donoghue to Recognise the contribution of Volunteers to Sport through National Award


John O'Donoghue, T.D., Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism has announced the establishment of an annual awards scheme which will honour and recognise volunteers in Irish sport.

Speaking at the Announcement, Mr. John O' Donoghue T.D stated, "It is important that we recognise the very valuable contribution to sport that is made by volunteers all over the country" the Minister said, "without their selfless dedication week in week out, many sports would not be able to function and society as well as sport would be in a much poorer state."
