For example, is it 'revered' or (has it been) commemorated in any way?

While I was over there spent the guts of a day in the library photocopying all the results from 1967 when Rovers represented Boston. Also have the results from the 1961 tour. Lemme know if you want them.
Best chance of any inside info on the tour would be interviews with players who were there. Will have a look.
Re commemoration my idea would be for Rovers to play the NY Red Bulls in NY in 2011 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1961 trip:D

One of the anomalies I've discovered is that Glens and Rovers played twice, whereas we played all other competing teams once ..... cannot find the reason - yet - as to 'why'.

No booklets for Rovers that I'm aware of. I didn't know there was a 10 year Glens booklet. Wouldn't mind a copy if you know of any going spare.Quote:

There was never any commemorative booklets produced from our end. To be honest, nobody really considered the tour to be that big a deal. I talked to some of the players from both tours and their biggest memory of it was just being in America for 7 weeks! They made the point that Irish people who went to America back then tended not to come home, so to get the opportunity to visit for while was very unusual.
It was seen as a good promotional thing for the club but, from what I could gather, nobody really placed that much importance on it. In fact, I'd imagine that many Rovers fans would be totally unaware the trip even happened.
I find this quite interesting to be honest, I never knew about it before!
