Best way to Landsdowne?

Before ye reply, yes i am a thick ignorant mucksavage and i apologise to all dubs for asking this question, please ignore.
Im coming from the wesht side of dublin headin for landsdowne i always head straight on down the chapelizod bypass into heuston station, up the quays to o'connell down by trinity towards grafton street and straight on down to landsdowne. And the traffic's always mental this way on match nights any quicker way???? :confused:

down chapelizod bypass -> turn right at roundabout before heuston -> take 4th left turn onto the canal -> straight down to lansdowne.....

Park the car at heuston, jump on the luas to connolly and the dart to lansdowne simple!

if you could park away form the ground would be the handiest. I always end up spending 2 hours on the damn canal.

There was a questionnaire in the programs a while back about how you got to Lansdowne, and how you travelled when leaving, was anything ever done with those?

The canal is a disaster for traffic. South circular road better option. Loads of parking to be hand between Merrion Square & Lansdowne. Should have little problem getting parking within 15 minute walk.

While the Dart might be handy getting to the match theres usually massive queues leaving Lansdowne.

Bear in mind that Lansdowne Road is inaccessible from Drumcondra, Phibsborough and the surrounding areas. The fastest route is via ferry to Holyhead, and thence to a succession of anonymous post-industrial sh1tholes in Northern England.

FROM WEXFORD:

The first leg of your journey takes you to the picturesque village of Cork, with occasional detours to Sweden, the Netherlands and France. From there, it's a swift jaunt with Fat Pat's Supersaver Cut-Price Fares Travel Agency to Reading, then onto Lansdowne. Allow approximately five years for the first leg of your journey, and three months for the second.

That was for the planning submission for the new stadium. IRFU did the same. Some of the findings were taken account of already e.g. closing the small bridge over the river at lansdowne dart station on match days

Dump the car and walk out from town. Only takes about 15 mins and the 'fresh' air will do you good!

I would park car at Heuston and get Luas into town and walk to LR. Do the same back.

I would leave the car as far away from town as possible. I drove to I think it was the Israeli game no it was the faroes game (from leixslip) and will never drive the car to/from landsdowne again.

Wouldnt the train (that could be the Luas, Im not quite sure) be the best idea? I know theres a station right next to the ground

No luas operates from Tallaght into town it passes the Red Cow Roundabout and Heuston station so either of these are decent drop off points for the Car in my opinion. The luas will then drop you off at Connolly station where you can walk to Lansdowne Road or get the Dart. I would get the Dart there and walk back to Connolly as the Dart is packed after the game so the walk will not do you any harm
