Probably done before (though I don't remember it), but how many players have played in the League of Ireland and in the World Cup? I don't want to include either (a) Irish players or (b) players who ended their career here for easy money. Preferably players who played here before playing in the World Cup.
Avery John is the obvious example - Trinidad & Tobago and Longford/Bohs/Pat's (?). There's also Dave Norman - Canada (1986) and UCD (1983-1985).
Any others spring to mind?
Didnt Bobby Charlton, Gordon Banks and Jimmy Greaves play the odd game in the 70s ?
I think that Joeseph Ndo was at the World Cup in 2002 but I don't think he played:confused:
Ndo was at 1998 and 2002 world cups. never got on the pitch
They did (not sure about Greaves) but point (b) I made specifically excluded them. ;) You could add in plenty of others - Trevor Brooking, Geoff Hurst, Uwe Seeler, Peter Lorimer and others.Quote:

His name was Zinedine O'Malley then though.
