Lads, I'm wondering how Lims fans feel over the proposed formula for deciding the Premier League's composition next year. Given the past 4 year criteria, your low attendances in the period and Hogan Park, do you feel that you could get screwed this year? I know you've got some things going for you like location and population base and of course what you'll do this season but do you envision the ridiculous situation where Waterford could stay up ahead of you based on the other stuff?
Personally speaking I don't feel screwed by it. I do feel screwed by many successive years of mismanagement in our own club and thefailure of the priest to do the decent thing and sign the lease.
Our facilities are not premier standard - even if our team are. I also think its fair that the 'on-the-pitch' criteria are based a number of years performances so that no club has an incentive to blow the bank this season and put their club in hock for years to come.
Finally, I have to give credit to the FAI for the process of this change. While I may not agree with weightings for different criteria or even teh criteria themselves, at least this is a lot more transparent than previous FAI acts where deals are done in smoke-filled rooms. We can argue over the scores but at least every club knows how the decisions will be made.
