Statement Regarding Friday Night

Mad As Cootes, Independent Athlone Town Supporters Club, would like to
distance itself from the actions of certain individuals during Friday nights
FAI Carlsberg Cup tie against Galway United.
We have received a number of emails confirming the identity of the people
involved in the incidents inside St Mel’s Park, and we can categorically state
that those persons are not members of Mad As Cootes.
This information has also been passed on to Athlone Town Football Club.
Further more, we would also like to state that we do not, in any way,
condone these actions and any such actions from members will incur an
immediate termination of membership.
Also, any persons who engage in such activities will not be permitted to
travel to away games on buses organised by Mad As Cootes.
We have been in contact with the Galway United Supporters Trust and also
other aggrieved parties to clarify our position on this.
