paul tuite was the ref. the tape of that game should be sent to pat kelly. it's hard to fathom how bad a the standard of officiating was 2nite

Well UCD were robbed against Bohs the night before. Ferguson, should have been red carded for his first half foul on McWalter which led to our goal scored by Alan Cawley from the resultant free-kick. And he wasn't even yellow carded. And of course who pops up to score the winning goal but the self same Ferguson. But of course it wasn't even reported in some of the papers cause it was only UCD that were robbed :(

fenlons swearing and abuse of the linesman was worse than seans antics....i think the 4th official just got fed up of all the complaining by the benches....but the ref was a joke anyway....very inconsistent...sometimes defenders would be wrestling players to the ground and no free...other times all foy had to do was jiggle and it would be a free...very frustrating...good game though....

I'm just listening to MWR Radio right now for the FAI Junior Cup semi-final. Jaysus, it's hard to believe Beeslow and Athenry used to play each other so much in the 60s and 70s and both clubs had basically a pitch and two goalposts. Amazing how things have changed and Athenry are about 15 minutes away from an Irish Junior Cup Final and both clubs have great facilities.
Great crowd at it too it seems and BTW MWR is easier to get than Ocean.:p :D

Seriously though, Sligoman, the changes in football in Ireland over the last 30 years have been phenomenal.
and no Dublin club in the final either. Wonder are there any ex Galway United players with Athenry?? Think there are.

Crowd was small enough....although our home support has increased
