Even eL players themselves not taking part in this should take an interest, this could be a huge, yet obviously poorly-publicised boost to the eL, in a local way. The media might even take an interest if we stuff the Welsh (surely we will) and win it outright.
While most of us thought originally that the tournament was at least one level too low for the players performing (even though they are not the ideal XI, makes it even better), but its great to see the players proving that they should be competing at a higher level.
Maybe this tournament an annual thing, as winners, we should host it next year?
I wouldn't get too excited. The eL team had everything to lose i suppose as they effectively playing the scottish 4th & 5th divisions, the english 4th & welsh league.
No disrespect to the Uk leagues but even playing them IMO associates the eL with non-league football.
Good win but would have been a disaster to lose.
