Some posts on Into The West would suggest that Galway United are signing Gary Connaughton, and ex-Athlone striker Andy Myler from Waterford. Wouldn't be surprised if Gary did sign, because from what I know, he just wanted to get away from a certain person at the Club here, and he won't get enough games with Westmeath.
Who did he want to get away from?
Supposedly, Philip Coffy the goalkeeper coach. He went off and got some coaching badge, came back to the Club and criticised every part of Gary's game. Thats what shot Gary's confidence last season.
He is an awfull ****er anyway, I remember him from doing preseason with Athlone a few years ago and didn't think much of him.
