The eleven-a-side.com Team of the Year for 2005 has been named, with newly-crowned eircom League champions Cork City dominating the line-up with six of the 11 places on offer, and only one player retaining his place on the team from the 2004 selection.

Having lifted their first national crown in 12 years, and come so close to completing a first League and Cup double for the city in more than half a century, it is hardly surprising that Cork should account for more than half the selection.
