After watching them about a hundred times each, I've finally settled for Paddy McCourt's screamer against Harps. Beautiful technique to catch the ball on the half volley like that.

Also, if anyone is on 56k and wants an individual clip, or if anyone wants a better quality version of a clip, just post here and I'll see what I can do.

Not sure about some of those nominations to be honest. How many were fairly speculative shots? Spectacular goals no doubt, but I'd prefer to see a few where some really good football is played, not just one person shooting from distance. An attacking move, on the break, with one-touch passing up the pitch is surely a better goal than a lob that sneaks under the crossbar.

Theyre taken from the TV3 'Goal of the Season' contest. I was really disappointed Weso's goal vs Drogheda wasn't there, a wonderful long-range strike that was definitely intended.

Yeah, not particularly surprised at TV3 not picking out the best goals really. They should run a goal of the month competition throughout the season and the winners in the goal of the season then.

Thats it exactly ... but maybe first and second from each month ... you'd have roughly 18-20 at the end .... that would be a good choice and the one that deserves to win would win, which is the way it should be.

It's a decent idea, but in some months there would be a plethora of great goals, and in others not many worth mentioning at all. If you take the top two in every month forward to the goals of the season, some marvellous goals will be missed out, that deserve a mention in the final list more than some that have been included.

Had it been scored in a league game, this surely would have been a contender!

Class goal!

Gregg hits it high and long, Foley kills it stone dead with one touch, holds off the defender and allows Joxer to run past him.
Then back heals it to Joxer, who does the most disguised and casual of chips from the edge of the box over the keeper into the far corner!

Totally agree the fact that it was his first goal in eircom league football makes it even sweeter

Quarter of the goals against Bray:rolleyes: . AT least no one can ever claim that our games are boring! Gotta be Mc Tiernans goal. Absolute cracker!
