If this is true it will be quite a test for him.1 Season at Kilkenny dosen't make him a good manager but it is certainly a risk worth taking on Rovers behalf seen as things can't get a whole lot worse.
BTW Is Roddy due any compo from Rovers?

Supposedly so.
As for Pat, I'm not sure he'll be up to it.
I predicted that months ago.
superfrank thinks that Scully isn't up to managing a team in the First Division??? What do you think he's been doing at Kilkenny?
he proved he can work on a tight budget and he can adjust..a smart choice..
Moderator: PLease merge with the thread in the Rovers section.
I think it is a perfect time to come in to a club of Rovers past size!! If he does bad, well he was working in a tough environment, if he does well he will be hailed a hero. Win win??
Gotta be a good move for him, and Rovers. He will do a good job there most likely!
I'm not sure it's such a good move for him tbh. He really had his KK team on the march in the latter half of the season, and if he held on to the side he had I would have tipped them to be in the top two, splitting Rovers and Harps. Way more presure to deliver now
Stand up If you've had Scullys wife (god its awkward typing when your standing)
Just being announced on radio

Can't wait to beat Rovers next season and beat them to promotion.
I wouldn't be suprised to see us get Brendan Rea as replacement.
Well considering a lot thought he wouldn't do a job at Kilkenny!!!! I reckon he's the man for the job good luck Pat
Shamrock Rovers FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Pat Scully as
the Hoops' new manager. Scully will be unveiled at a press conference next
week as he is currently out of the country.
``It was vitally important that we made an appointment as soon as possible,''
says Rovers' chairman Jonathan Roche. ``And we feel Pat is the ideal man for
the job: he's young, ambitious and had a great season with Kilkenny.
``He's on holiday this week, but we wanted a message to go out to everyone -
especially the fans and the players - that Shamrock Rovers mean business.
Next season starts now.''
Welcome back Pat. The fans will back you all the way.

Think he ment that he may not be up to managing a club with such high expectations, cos no disrespect intended, Killkenny hardly have that much in the way of expectations do they? Have to say he did do a good job with Killkenny, but have to agree 100% with Super Frank. Rovers will be the team in the first division that everyone wants to beat next year, and their is a lot of responsibility on Scully's shoulders.Quote:

I think Pat is fully up to the job and i'm sure he'll do a good job of it.

True but the way his salary will be structured it'll be in his best interests to get Rovers promoted next season, although by the looks of things there will be no promotion or relegation for the 2007 seasonQuote:
