An early six-pointer, as our first Munster derby of 2026 approaches on Friday. It may be too early to suggest that Healy's tenure could come under pressure, but he'll certainly have to demonstrate by the mid-season break that Kingdom performances have definitively improved from last season, and there's no tangible evidence of advancement from the opening three 2026 fixtures. All of which requires a statement of intent at Market's Field this week, and while the hosts have equally underperformed this term, they at least haven't splurged a sizeable budget to no meaningful effect. A draw seems the likeliest result, all things considered, but management would take a win by even the slenderest margin in order to truly kickstart the season.

4 games in - 4 times we give a lead away( including twice tonight). 2 goals conceded from goalkeeper howlers, 2 goals conceded from set pieces and a penalty kick conceded from a corner too. Sit back and draw opposition on to us every time we take the lead. Hoofball is our biggest attacking threat. Can someone explain to me why we brought these experienced players in? I thought it was to stop all this happening!! The local lads look better!!

The more things change the more things frustratingly stay the same for Kerry. Basic mistakes. Experienced players are supposed to cut out the sloppiness. Really annoying.
