Wexford FC Women v Treaty United
Close game in match of few chances but Treaty got the goal that mattered to enable the away side secure the three points in Ferrycarrig this evening. Wexford started with Maria, Lolly, Della, Lauren, Kylie, Becky, Aoife, Ellen, Rossi, Freya and Ciara. Treaty probably started the tidier as Wexford found it hard to create a huge amount in the first period. Both defences were generally dominating to limit the amount of real chances even further. On seven minutes, Wexford’s Freya De Mange had a long range effort but Tuomi in the Treaty goal made a comfortable catch. On 25 minutes, Lauren Dwyer for Wexford made a good block to deny Flocchini a shooting chance. On thirty-three minutes, Ellen Molloy had the ball in the Treaty net, but it was ruled out for offside. Four minutes later, Lolly Conlon was found free at the Treaty far post by a good cross from Ellen Molloy, but on a slight stretch could only dab the ball over the Treaty bar. As the game approached injury time, Treaty grabbed the goal that mattered when Katie Lawlee finished close in after a Treaty free was only partially cleared by the Wexford defence. 1-0 to Treaty at halftime.
