Dundalk (H)

With the club website now suggesting that the game is fully sold out, the atmosphere should be electric for the inaugural "Ainscough Derby", especially with the novelty factor of a win potentially lifting the club to the top of the table, however temporarily! In all seriousness, however, we've probably never faced into a game against opponents of this calibre with such reason for optimism, with particular strength in the squad among the back five, though obviously the absence of Kelliher limits our options at the other end. That said, it appears Gleeson's niggle last week was fairly minor, so if he's available to start, it would be a major boost. As for Dundalk, we know all about Leo's potential and Daryl Horgan's experience, while the addition of Ebbe further solidifies their status as title favourites. Needless to say, Friday will be one of the toughest fixtures we're likely to have all season, but if we maintain our shape and form from the two matches to date, we may just emerge from the 90 minutes with a share of the spoils.

With Kelliher and Alabi doubts and Adams suspended I'd gladly take a draw. Injury concerns too over Palmer so I'd guess Dan or Nathan upfront. Should be a good atmosphere, I'm going for a 1 1 draw.

Dundalk will probably come and throw the kitchen sink at us in the first 20mins and hope to score and kill the game from there. I would see a change potentially at right back, if Alabi is fit, then KW moves across or else straight swap with Finn Barrett. Dunne got done for pace a few times against Cobh. Still a quality player that will improve with more fitness, but Dundalk have plenty of threat out wide.

If Gleason is fit, I would expect him to be up front on his own with Dan moving back to the wing or we play him right behind Gleason and go with a more compact 4 in the middle of Brookwell, McGrath, Teahan and Crowe / Majaguzi.

Hold tight for the first 30mins and grow in confidence as the game goes on. One goal either way could win this one.

Massive game. Sell out signs gone up! These games against the "Premier Division" opponent in the First Division are always a good test ahead of the cup later in the summer.
Solid start to the season. Two clean sheets and 4 points. This evening will be tougher without Kelliher's threat to occupy defenders. It'll be interesting to see what approach is taken for this game.
Need to be defensively strong this evening. Have a foothold in the game. Make Dundalk work hard. Some people talk about statement wins and moral victories. For the Kerry squad this evening the opportunity is for a wow factor result.
My concern after two 1 nil wins to start their season is that Dundalk could be playing into better form. The potential is there for a great evening or a difficult evening. Sure we'll hope for the best!

Spot on with your starting XI expectation. Gleeson is in. The only change from last week with RK out injured.

Disappointing game to lose, started second half really strong and played good football passing through the lines and getting in behind their full backs, taking advantage of the extra man. We panicked though as the half went on and started to lump balls in from deep, which was frustrating.

Roll on Bray, need 3 points here to keep momentum going.

Great atmosphere last night, hopefully we can keep crowds around 800-1,000 for rest of the season.
