The eircom League will today launch its own review of its structures and what it believes is a blueprint for the way forward for the ailing League.

Genesis – the company who famously reviewed the FAI in the aftermath of the 2002 World Cup – were called in by the League to make a report and recommendations on how to go forward.

Top of the recommendations is that there is a return to a 10-team Premier Division with two regional divisions below rather than the current First Division. The report also recommends a salary cap, greater marketing of the League and more ground-sharing by Dublin clubs.

The report will be officially unveiled today with clubs expected to vote on whether to accept its proposals in the coming months.

whatever about the other points,theres no need whatsoever to have more groundsharing

whats the story with two regional divisions below the premier?surely there wouldnt be enough teams to make this work?

The idea of two regional first divisions, and a percentage based salary cap are very worthy ideas IMO, and well worth considering.

i thought the press conference was on now ?? what time is it due for ?
