Interesting loan for him. He is one of two goalkeepers Leyton Orient currently have on loan and is by far the less experienced of the two. He appears to have been a last minute transfer deadline day signing after they panicked that their initial loan keeper wasn't good enough. Will be interesting to see if they decide to give him a go in the league, hopefully they weren't watching the Latvia game last week...
Scored today in the FA Cup. 2 goals from Irish goalkeepers in the last few years :D
I'm not sure how much he has had to do with it but Josh Keeley is holding down the number one spot for Leyton Orient team and they aren't conceding. 4 leagues goals in December with clean sheets. Up v Crawley now 1-0, Ollie O'Neil assisting their goal.
Has seen off the other goalkeeper (Hemming) he was supposed to be backing up for the season - Hemming has been recalled by his parent club Middlesbrough.
Keeley has been showing potential for the last couple of seasons - he is being groomed to be Brighton's future starter - Verbruggen is being linked with a move to Bayern Munich as a replacement for Neuer (hopefully that doesn't happen before Keeley is ready).
Do you think Spurs would be willing to sell him to a premier league rival?
Getting Keeley and Cahill confused I think
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/a...s/c8xjzvgwe8jo unfortunately shows where spurs rate keeley
I think that's more to do with how they rate their other keepers efforts while their first choice has been injured. Keeley I think will be one that will need to work his way up to whatever level he ends up reaching. Has made a good start at it with Leyton Orient.
His Dad, Brendan, wasn't a bad LOI/IL keeper. Despite being from Dublin, he seem to play over the border quite a lot; most notably for Newry Town
Certainly a phenomenal start to his loan spell! 10 clean sheets in 14 games and 8 in his last 9 games is some record. Fans lauding him with praise on their forum. Definitely better to be getting first team experience, than Brandon Austin’s 5 games in 4 years before the weekend. If only we had a similar glut of talent in centre midfield!

Saved the penalty in sudden death which - as Orient scored theirs - puts them through to face Man City in the 4th round.
They seem to absolutely love him at Leyton Orient (I appreciate there's something a bit "they're big in Scandinavia" about that comment). But he's come in from nowhere to solve a massive problem position for them and the supporter view seems to be that they have no hope of getting him back next season. A Championship loan would be the next logical step if he can get one. At that level he can challenge Max O'Leary in the Ireland selection order (again not saying a whole lot as O'Leary remains uncapped to date).
He seems to play with a huge amount of confidence & personality. Augurs well when a young keeper is also a big on-field character.
